About us

About Us

For more than fifty years, my partner and I lived and worked across Southeast Asia in countries such as Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Sarawak, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and places beyond in Libya and England. I am a Scotswoman and my partner is Swiss and we now live in Brisbane, Australia.

Our interest in Asian art, antiques and collectibles began in Singapore over 53 years ago where we began our married life. We never intended to become experts, and we still aren’t, nor did we plan to build such an extensive collection. Every piece in our collection was chosen because it resonated with us at the time. As a private collection, items were not documented as would be expected of a dealer stock, many items were kept in storage for several years when we lived abroad.

However, on request, we are happy to sign a statutory declaration stating how long the item has been in our possession and from where we acquired it with anything else we can recall about its history.

We have never maintained a traditional storefront. By operating outside the traditional retail space, we have focused entirely on the historical significance and aesthetic integrity of each of the pieces we have acquired, of course some more significant than others.

Now retired, we’ve turned our attention from gathering to stewardship. This website is our way of honouring the stories behind the pieces we have lived with for decades and others for just a couple of decades. All of our Burmese Buddha statues were acquired in Myanmar between Yangon and Mandalay between 2008 and 2014.

Here, you’ll find a growing gallery of our collection of Buddhist iconography with some rare pieces, Asian antiques and vintage items, Burmese kammavaca and pe-sa palm leaf manuscripts, as well as a few Tibetan Buddhist manuscripts and a small collection of Chinese Ceramics and Chinese ming qi objects.

This space is part gallery, part archive, part personal history. It reflects a lifetime of curiosity, learning, and quiet devotion to the beauty of Asian art and its culture. We hope you enjoy exploring it as much as we enjoy building it.

This website is a private, non-commercial archive showcasing our personal life-time collection of over 50 years

Occasional private sales are conducted strictly as a personal hobby

We do not have a physical showroom. All items are held securely in private storage and are available exclusively for digital viewing and direct shipping.

For security reasons we do not publish our home address, but we welcome enquiries through our contact form, we are happy to discuss any piece in detail.

Please let us know if you would like to discuss a particular item or require close-up, high-resolution photographs.
